Bengaluru/Kopal: In an embarrassment for Congress government in Karnataka, CM Siddaramaiah’s Economic Advisor Basavaraj Rerededi In a meeting on Tuesday, the state described the state as “No. 1 in Corruption”.

He claimed that he highlighted only poor quality in public functions launched by himself and previous guards. “I addressed the officials, stating that the quality welfare of the Govt projects is lacking in the Karnataka region … I questioned how … how can the regional imbalance be addressed. Therefore, I suggested that the committee included my recommendation in its report to ensure high quality work that leaves no place for corruption,” Yaleburga MLA clarified.
Rereddi also said, “I mentioned that the state has been branded for corruption due to poor quality. I did not accuse the present government or the previous government of corruption.”
Commentary gave rise to controversy. Vijayendra’s state president, while targeting the CM, said, “Karnataka, under your administration, has become synonymous with corruption on the national platform, which brings shame to the state internationally.”
