After Ahmedabad Crash: Air India starts at Rs 25 lakh; Offering trauma support to affected families Bharat News

Air India has started issuing interim compensation of Rs 25 lakh for the families of the deceased and the survivors of the Boeing 787-8 aircraft accident to be held in Ahmedabad on 12 June. In a statement released on Saturday, the airline confirmed that three families have received payment so far, the rest is currently being processed. The compensation rollout began on 20 June. This interim support comes in addition to compensation of Rs 1 crore earlier declared by Tata Sons, the original company of Air India. To help grieving families, Air India has deployed a team of trained psychologists and doctors in Ahmedabad to provide trauma counseling and emotional support. A separate team, including medical personnel, including nurses and a pharmacist, is addressing the running and emerging health requirements. Helpdesk has been assisting families with a helpdesk, documentation and claim processing since 15 June. The airline said that this single-line system is helping to speed up the compensation process.Air India said that the team of medical personnel including nurses and a pharmacist has been deployed to meet the ongoing or emerging health needs. The airline stated that the assistance to the families is being increased through DNA identification processes, and at least one career occurs with each family when mortal remains are issued, ensuring respectable transport and funeral arrangements. Additional financial assistance, travel, medical expenditure, housing and covering the cost of funeral are also being provided on the basis of personal needs.
