In a striking moment, Tharoor replied in French, directly addressing the problem of Pakistan’s participation. “There is a country that unfortunately provides a safe shelter for these terrorist groups,” said Tharur. “They have their own headquarters, they train terrorists in their country, fund them, tie them, and send them to other countries. It is difficult for us to ignore the fact that they enjoy protection in Pakistan.” The video of Tharoor’s French-language exchange with Slutski quickly went viral on social media, giving him praise for both his linguistic skills and diplomatic clarity.After the meeting, Tharoor posted on X: “My Russian counterpart, it is good to renew my acquaintance with Mr. Slutski, who visited Parliament in New Delhi with a Russian delegation a few months ago. We exchanged ideas on the possible route of regional peace, operation vermilion and future parliamentary support.” Tharoor has long been outspoken about Pakistan’s terrorism relations and reiterated India’s concerns, leading the Indian delegation under the government’s Operation Sindoor Global Outreach initiative.
