Agri-Clinics is expected to help farmers on soil health, crop practices, safety of plants and post-harvesting techniques.In Tuesday’s meeting, the ministry also decided to discuss crop-specific issues with farmers, given that every crop throws its set of challenges.Chauhan said that the ministry will start practice by connecting with soybean farmers in Madhya Pradesh on 26 June, after which there will be similar discussion on cotton, sugarcane, pulses and oilseeds in various states.In another meeting, the Ministry approved the purchase of moong (green village) and urad (black grams) in Madhya Pradesh, and Udad in Uttar Pradesh under the Central Freeding Price Assistance Scheme (PSS).The scheme is implemented and when the notified pulses and oilseed market prices fall below the minimum support price (MSP) during the peak harvesting period, providing remuneration to farmers.
