New Delhi: Flight operations of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport in Ahmedabad have been temporarily suspended after an Air India Boeing 787 Dreamliner on Thursday afternoon after the takeoff. The airport is currently non-conducting, and all flights are stopped until next notice.It was drowned in the Meghni region of the city, after an Air India aircraft tied to London, which sends a large -scale plum of black smoke and triggers an immediate emergency response.The Boeing aircraft crashed soon after departing from Ahmedabad Airport with 242 people fixed for London, with several deadly estimates. It fell rapidly and crashed in Meghnagar area near Ahmedabad International Airport at around 2 pm.“Flight AI171, the operation of Ahmedabad-London Gatwick, was involved in an incident on 12 June 2025 today. At this time, we are finding out the details and shared further updates on our X handle as soon as possible,” Air India posted on X.The injured passengers were rushed to the City Civil Hospital for treatment. Thick black smokes appeared from a lot of distance. Television crew who arrived in the crash site broadcast footage of the aircraft debris.Emergency services reached fast and introduced widespread rescue, withdrawal and fire control measures.“We are receiving details about the casualties,” said the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Kanan Desai.Fire fighting officer Jayesh Khadia confirmed that the fire engine was immediately sent to extinguish the flames.
