All about Nikhil Nanda: Stailing with both Amitabh Bachchan and Raj Kapoor to create a business empire of Rs 36000 crore.

Kapor and Bachchan are two of India’s two most respected film families. While Kapor has produced stars for generations, Bachchan has made significant impact in the last fifty years. And there is a man who brought these two families together – a business tycoon that is connected to both Raj Kapoor and Amitabh Bachchan.
Nikhil Nanda’s family background
Nikhil Nanda was born in 1974 in Delhi to businessman Rajan Nanda. Her mother, Ritu Nanda, daughter of mythological Raj Kapoor and sister of actors were Rishi Kapoor, Randhir Kapoor and Rajiv Kapoor’s sister. It makes Ranbir Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor, Karisma Kapoor, Aamman Jain and Armaan Jain Nikhil’s first cousin.Married to Shweta Bachchan: Bridge to two eminent families
In 1997, Nikhil Nanda married Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan’s daughter Shweta Bachchan, and further added the Bachchan family. His brother -in -law is Abhishek Bachchan. Nikhil’s son, Agastya made her acting debut in 2023, while her daughter, Navya Navali, is an entrepreneur.
Revising family business: Nikhil’s visit with escorts group
After completing his education in the US, Nikhil Nanda joined the family business in 1997. At that time, his grandfather’s company, escort groups, difficult competition and a decline in returns. Nikhil worked with his father to revive the business. Starting as a director, he was promoted as Joint Managing Director in 2007 and took over as the head of the company after his father passed away in 2013. Since then, Nikhil has expanded escorts to a multinational corporation.

A new era led by Nikhil
In 2021, Escorts Limited participated with Kubota Corporation. The following year, the company was renamed as Escorts Kubota Limited, in which Nikhil Nanda served as Chairman and Managing Director (CMD). As of April 2025, the market cap of escorts is more than $ 4.1 billion (about ₹ 36,000 crore) in FY 2024 with an annual revenue of $ 1.1 billion (₹ 9,200 crore).
