‘All because of a family …’: Jaishankar kills Congress on Emergency; ‘Kisa Ki Kursi ki’ Jibe. Bharat News

New Delhi: “A lesson that the emergency has taught us never to take freedom,” Foreign Minister S Jaishankar announced in 1975 criticizing the Congress party in 1975.Addressing a fake Parliament program organized by the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morch (BJYM) to celebrate its 50th anniversary, Jaishankar, while mentioning the film “Kisa Kusi Ka”, said how the interests of a family were placed on the nation. “When a family is considered above the nation, there are things like emergency,” he said, saying that this step was essentially aimed at breaking the country’s morale.“This whole practice was to break the morale of the country and society, in a way, many people, who were not even in politics, were impressed. Those who were in politics knew well that doing politics was an indispensable arrest, and those who were arrested were unaware of what and when they would be released,” they said.Prime Minister Narendra Modi also condemned the functions of the Congress party, in which the Emergency was described as the “black chapter” in India’s democratic history. He highlighted how the Constitution was violated, the voice of Parliament was suppressed, and efforts were made to control the courts. PM Modi said, “Poor, marginalized and Dalit person was specially targeted, including insulting his dignity.”India’s first Mayurla emergency declaration was under Article 352 of the Constitution in the Emergency set up between 25 June 1975 and 21 March 1977. President Fakhruddin Ali Ahmed issued proclamation, citing threats from internal disturbances, marking the third emergency in India’s history during wars with China (1962) and Pakistan (1971).
