On Wednesday, Rohit Sharma announced retirement from Test cricket through a story on his Instagram handle.“Hello everyone, I would just like to share that I am retiring from Test cricket. It is a full honor to represent my country in whites. Thanks to all love and support for years. I will continue to represent India in the ODI format.”After the World Cup last year already retired from T20 International, Rohit will now be seen only in the ODI format.The 38 -year -old was India’s most vast test batsman in the second half of his career, scoring 4301 runs in 67 tests and on an average of 12 hundreds and 18 half -centuries at an average of 40.57.India will have a new Test captain for a five-observance series in England starting on June 20, with the potential candidates Jasprit Bumrah, KL Rahul, Shubman Gill and Rishabh Pant. Bumrah captained the side in some tests during the tour of Australia.
Rohit ended a particularly tough run during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, where he had to leave himself in a bad way from dues from playing, but he denied retirement at that level.
