New Delhi: Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah criticized the United States Foreign Policy, reacting to the recent host of Pakistan’s Army chief Asif Munir by US President Donald Trump for lunch at the White House. “But clearly, the US only works in its own profit and has no connection for any other country,” he asked reporters of Srinagar railway station after returning from Jammu.Abdullah traveled to Jammu in the new inauguration Vande Bharat train from Srinagar to Katra, including his father Farooq Abdullah. When asked about the ongoing Iran-Israel struggle, the leader of the National Conference called for an immediate stop for the war and the issue should be resolved through dialogue.“The bombing should not have started. Earlier, when the American intelligence-in-charge was asked if Iran had a nuclear bomb, he said that he could not think Iran could make a bomb for a long time. But Israel attacked Iran within a few months. The attack should stop and the issues were resolved through negotiations.Speaking on the status of Indian students in Iran, Abdullah assured that efforts were being made to safely bring them home.“We can’t bring them back overnight, because the airports and ports are closed. We are first bringing them to cities through the road where there is no bombing, then they are being brought back through Armenia.”CM said, “We hope that today, 300-400 students are returning, most of whom are from Jammu and Kashmir. We will safely bring them home safely.”
