We have to monitor our 7,000 km beach areas. Without satellite and drone technology, we cannot receive many things.”So far, ISRO has launched a total of 127 Indian satellites, including private operators and educational institutions. Of these, 22 are in low Earth’s orbit and 29 geo-synchronous meaning orbit, which are owned by the Central Government. There are about a dozen detectives or monitoring satellites in India. They include Cartosat and RISAT series, as well as Emissat and Microsat series, designed for specific surveillance functions.A few days ago, Pawan Kumar Goenka, president of the National Space Promotion and Authority Center (In-Space), said at the Global Space Exploration Conference 2025 that India would have a constellation of 52 satellites in the next five years to pursue space-based monitoring capabilities.“We already have quite strong abilities. This is just that it requires continuous growth,” said Goenka. He said that this scheme is to increase the monitoring capabilities of the defense sector. “Until now, this was done mainly by ISRO. We will bring to the private sector because we move forward,” he said. The new satellite Indian Army, Navy and Air Force track will help enemy movements, monitor borders and improve real -time coordination during military operations.Narayanan’s statement comes at a time when ISRO is scheduled to launch another monitoring satellite, EOS-09 (Risat-1B) radar imaging satellite, on 18 May in a Sun-Synchronous Orbit, which will promote India’s monitoring powers with its sensitive boundaries.Saying that the development of the common man requires advanced satellite technologies, Narayanan predicted that India would be a master in every region before celebrating 100 years of its independence, the country would be an excellent contribution to the world.He said that ISRO and its several satellites are operational for the development of the Northeast states and execution of many projects in the region. He urged the students that after taking the degree, their responsibility is to give something to the society.
