Amit Shah advocated India to promote Indian languages in governance to promote national unity

New Delhi: Home Minister Amit Shah said on Thursday that the government was committed to ensure that its diverse languages would become a powerful medium to connect people, unlike the last few decades, when effort, although unsuccessful, failed, focused on making the language a tool to break the country.Addressing the Golden Jubilee celebrations of the official language department here, Shah stressed that the country should be ruled in local languages to move forward with self-respect on the basis of its culture. Referring to the resolve to be free from the mindset of slavery – One of the ‘Panch Pran’ given by Prime Minister Narendra Modi – Shah said that it can only be completed when a person is proud of his language and develops the ability to make decisions, think, analyze and decide in that language. He said, “Indian languages should be used not only in the central government but also in state governments. For this, we will also help the state governments, encourage them and try to convince them,” he said. The Home Minister said that “our roots, traditions, history, identity and cultural method of life can be different from the language,”He said, “Hindi is a friend of all languages and together, Hindi and other Indian languages enhance our self-pride,” he said that there should be no opposition to foreign language. He said, “Any state can never become great by ignoring its mother tongue and the Modi government has made several attempts to honor and distinguish its languages,” he said that Marathi, Pali, Prakrit, Assamese and Bengali referred to recognition as classical languages.Shah said that Indian languages are getting an unprecedented boost in the fields of technology, education and administration and have asked all state governments to take initiative to provide medical and engineering education in local language. He said, “The new education policy -2020 insists on teaching the mother tongue and local language up to class 5 and 8. 95% of the applicants are now appearing in their mother tongue for the post of constable in Central Armed Police Forces,” they shared.Shah said that in the last 11 years, the Modi government has launched events like Kashi-Tamil Sangam, Kashi-Tilugu Sangam, Saurashtra-Tamil Sangam, Shashwat Mithila Festival and Bhasha Sangam under the ‘Each India, Shrasata Bharat’ program. He said that as part of the language Sangam, a program is being run in every school to teach 100 commonly used sentences to students in 22 languages recognized by the Constitution. He obtained the title of ‘Hindi Shabdsindu’ initiative by the official language department, saying that it would make the official language more accepted, flexible and comprehensive, which, regardless of the commonly spoken works, regardless of their origin. Also appreciating the establishment of Indian Bhash Anubhag – which enables the translation of official files from Hindi to other official languages and vice versa – The Home Minister said that it will help in spontaneous coordination and communication between the Center and the states.
