Another Indian shoplifting caught: Arrests a person stealing from Singapore Airport; Perfume, cosmetics, bags looting 3 lakh rupees

An Indian man was arrested on Thursday to steal items worth more than S $ 5,136 (about Rs 3.5 lakh) from several shops at Singapore’s Changi Airport, reports of the English Daily Straits Times.According to the Singapore police, the suspect has been included in a range of theft from 14 separate shops, taking perfumes, cosmetics and bags. The arrest follows a report on May 29, when a bag was discovered after a bag disappeared during a stocktack at a retail outlet in Jewel Changi.“Initial investigation revealed that a supervisor in the store realized that a bag was missing after a stocking,” the police were asked to the Straits Times. CCTV footage allegedly left the man to take items and without paying.The officials succeeded in identifying the man after the initial theft, but had left Singapore until he confirmed his identity. However, on 1 June, when the man returned and was found to be transferred through the Changi Airport, he was arrested.Police confirmed that the stolen items were recovered from him. They are expected to be charged with theft of theft and property fraud on Friday.The police have reiterated their zero-tolerance trend on such crimes. “Criminals should not think that they can quickly occupy by riding a flight. The police will continue to work closely with the stakeholders to stop and prevent shop theft cases,” he said.
