AR Rahman reacted to a public inquiry after announcing the divorce from Saira Banu: ‘It is karma, everyone is a sister, wife and mother’
After being tight for months, Oscar winning music composer R Rahman has finally talked about public interest and comment wave after separating from his wife Saira Banu. His decision to participate in a publicly shared manner in November 2024 surprised many and became a cause of mixed reactions in social media. So far, Rahman and both Saira Had avoided addressing speculation directly.
Speaking with Naydeep Rakshit in an interview on YouTube recently, Rahman shared his views on the challenges of living under a constant public investigation. He accepted the nature of fame and how it invites the decision. “The option to be in public life is intentionally, so everyone is reviewed. The richest person is also reviewed from God, so who I am as long as we live together and do not imagine or are not toxic … Even people even people [criticise us] – They are all families, ”Rahman commented.
Responding to online trolling and individual attacks, Rahman chose to take a high road, gave a message in sympathy and cultural values. “The matter is karma. If I say things about someone’s family, someone is going to say things about me. And as Indians, we believe it. No one should say unnecessary things because everyone has a sister, a wife and a mother. Even if I think someone says something. [hurtful] About my family, I often pray, “Please forgive God, forgive them and guide them on the right path,” he said.
In 2024, Rahman took the X (East Twitter) to share the news of his separation: “We expected to reach the Grand Thirty, but everything, it seems, takes an unseen end. Even the throne of God can tremble over the weight of the broken heart.”
Saira Banu, through her legal representative Vandana Shah, issued a statement, confirming that the separation stems from emotional stress within her marriage. After Rahman’s health complications and hospitalization in March, Saira clarified that although he is living separately, he is legally married. In a public message, he appealed to the media and Rahman’s well -wishers for sensitivity.
