Assam police can interrogate Gaurav Gogoi on ‘Pak Link’

Guwahati: Recently, Lok Sabha Gaurav Gogoi, appointed as the president of the party’s Assam Unit, is likely to be called soon for questioning with his alleged relations with the Congress Deputy Leader, Pakistan for questioning soon, a highly appointed police source said. The source said that if necessary, a letter will be written to the Lok Sabha speaker allowing Gogoi to be questioned.Ripun Bora, an associate of Gogoi’s party and former Rajya Sabha MP, was questioned by an Assam police for four hours on Thursday in connection with the case. He was questioned about his statement during a press conference on Sunday, where he defended Gogoi on a Pak-link charge against him. Bora had said that CM Himanta Biswa was trying to portray Biswa Sarma Gogoi as an ISI agent as the BJP knows that the present government will lose the assembly elections next year if Gogoi is made the CM candidate of the opposition.Gogoi told the media, “… Sit asked for information from Ripun Bora. If Bora had to give them all the information, what did he do in the name of investigation?” He said that the people of the state have already understood politics in the name of investigation. He said, “We are talking about the ongoing syndicate of coal, sand and betel nuts and scams by the CM and some of its close ministers, and we will take the issues to the people,” he said.
