Sydney, May 04, 2025-Principal Minister Anthony Albanis, left-to-Astralia, promised a “disciplined, serial” government on Sunday, in his landslide electoral victory, in his landslide electoral victory.
Residents clapped as 62 -year -old and their fiance Jodi Hayden visited his old Inner Sydney Hunt, Cafe Italia, surrounded by crowds of photographers and TV journalists.
The Albanese Labor Party is to win at least 82 seats in the 150 -member Parliament, shown partial results.
Opposition leader Peter Datton’s conservative Liberal-National Alliance had only 36 seats, and other parties were 12. Another 20 seats were still in doubt.
Albanis said, “We would be a disciplined, systematic government in our second term,” he traveled with his mother after scooping the ice cream for journalists in a cafe.
“He would be very proud,” Albanis said about her late, single mother Maryinen, who picked her up in a slight government-friendly Sydney flat.
He said, “We have been given a great honor to serve the Australians, and we do not take it, and we will work hard every day.”
Datton, a hard-nosed former policeman-critics tagged the “trump-light” for policies, including the involvement of civil service-ended the rare insult to lose his seat.
‘For an age’
US President Donald Trump’s business tariff, and the anarchy they receive may not be the biggest factor Labor party win – But analysts said that they helped.
“If we want to understand why a good part of voters has changed in the election campaign in the last few months, I think this is the biggest thing.”
“In the time of instability, we hope that people will go back to a kind of stable support.”
Albani’s victory scale took his party with surprise.
“It is still drowning,” said Treasurer Jim Chalmers.
“It was beyond our most optimistic expectations. It was a history -making night. It was one for the age,” Chalmers told the National Broadcaster ABC.
But the victory came with “the healthy help of humility”, he said, because the under-pesture Australians want “stability” at indefinitely.
Albanese has promised to embrace renewable energy, cut taxes, deal with a deteriorating housing crisis, and insert money in an extreme health system.
Datton wanted to reduce immigration, wanted to tighten the crime and had been banning nuclear power for a long time.
‘Full responsibility’
Before the counting of the first vote, speculation was increasing on whether the 54 -year -old opposition leaders could avoid election loss.
Datton told supporters in a concession speech, “We did not do enough good during this campaign. Tonight it is clear and I accept full responsibility.”
Economic concerns have dominated the competition for many Australian families who have struggled to pay the prices bloated for milk, bread, electricity and petrol.
“Life cost – this is very high at the moment … petrol prices, all basic goods,” Human Resource Manager Robin Knoc told AFP in Brisbane.
The 36-day campaign was largely an affair, but there were moments of unpublished Levity.
Albanis tumble from the stage backwards at a heavy campaign rally, while Dton took out blood when he hit an unheard cameraman in a head with a stray football.
Leaders around the world congratulated Albanis on his victory.
US State Secretary Marco Rubio said that he expected to promote freedom and stability in Indo-Pacific with Australia, a “valuable colleague, partner and friend of the United States”.
A spokesman for an anonymous Chinese Foreign Ministry said that Beijing was “ready to work” with the government of Australia.
Albanis said that he spoke to Papua New Guinea and New Zealand Prime Ministers, and received a series of “some good text messages” and others from leaders in Britain, France.
Premier said he planned to talk with leaders of Indonesia and Ukraine, promising to return the Kiev against Russia’s invasion: “This is my government’s position. It was yesterday. It is still there.”
