New Delhi: Between nasal-banging in bilateral relations, Bangladesh has canceled an order of $ 21 million (about Rs 180 crore) last year with the Kolkata-based defense shipyard garden Reach Shipbuilding and Engineers (GRSE), which is for the manufacture of 800-Fen Advanced Ocean-Ging last year. The contract, which included the design, construction and distribution of a 61-meter-lumbar tug in 24 months, was made the first major deal under a credit line of $ 500 million for defense purchase by DHAKA by New Delhi, operating in 2023.The deal for a tug with maximum speed with a full load of at least 13 knots was signed by officials of the Bangladesh Navy Directorate General in Dhaka and GRSE officials in July last year. The contract had combined to further strengthen defense relations with Tripathi’s four -day visit to Bangladesh’s four -day visit to Tripathi and detect new paths for maritime cooperation. However, in August last year, the subsistence of Bangladesh’s then PM Sheikh Hasina killed bilateral relations. India had previously carried forward military relations with Bangladesh, which a few years ago acquired its first diesel-electric submarines from China to combat the strategic contradictions of Beijing in the country.Army chief General Upendra Dwivedi said earlier this year that India and Bangladesh consider one -to -other “strategically important” neighbors and are not in the interest of either “hostility” either.
