Bangladesh Hindu leader murder: India condemns cruel killing, cites ‘systematic harassment’ India news

New Delhi: India strongly condemned the brutal murder Bhabesh Chandra RoyA prominent Hindu minority leader in Bangladesh, is called part of the “pattern of systematic harassment” of Hindus under the interim government led by Muhammad Yunus.
Foreign Ministry (Mea) spokesman Randhir Jaiswal posted on X (East Twitter), “We have paid attention to the kidnapping and brutal murder of Bhabesh Chandra Roy, a Hindu minority leader in Bangladesh, Bhabesh Chandra Roy. The interim government has to live its responsibility to protect all minorities, including Hindus, without the intense or distinctions, without distinctions.”
58 -year -old Roy served as the vice -president of Bangladesh Pooja Udjapan Parishad’s Biral unit and was a famous man in the Hindu community of Biral Upadela in Dinajpur.
His wife, Shantana Roy, Bhabesh was at home, when he received a call at 4:30 pm on Thursday. He said that criminals were called to confirm their presence at home. About 30 minutes later, four people allegedly reached two motorcycles and kidnapped them.
Quoting eyewitnesses, the Daily Star reported that Bhabesh was taken to Narbari village, where he was brutally attacked. After that evening, the attackers reportedly brought their unconscious bodies back to their homes on a van. Family members aided by the local people took him to the Biral Apazila Health Complex. He was later transferred to Dinajpur Medical College Hospital, where doctors declared him dead on arrival.
His body has been sent for the body examination.
Quoting Abdus Sabur, an officer of the Daily Star’s Biral Police Station, the Daily Star said that preparations are underway to file a case. Police are currently working to identify and catch the suspects.
The murder has expressed the latest resentment between human rights groups and migrant communities, who have repeatedly expressed concern over the safety of religious minorities in Bangladesh.
