The Indian Consulate in New York has discovered that a person detained by authorities in the US was controlled and admitted to a medical facility after not being favorable for the journey, ANI said citing sources. The Indian student coming from Haryana illegally entered the United States without a valid visa and returned to India as per the court order. ANI reported that the Indian Consulate in New York is associated with US officials on the matter. It came after an Indian student, which was handcuffed, forcibly restrained at an American airport, which increased concern about the treatment of international students.The incident came to light when X user Kunal Jain, an Indian-American social entrepreneur and Hindi writer who recently returned to India, shared a video of the incident.The event took place at Newark Airport, as reported by Singh, who reached the Indian Embassy and Foreign Minister S Jaishankar to assist. His social media post states: “I was being deported from Newark Airport last night- handcuffs, crying, behaved like a criminal. He came chasing the dream, not damaged. No harm. As an NRI, I was helpless and heartbroken. It is a human tragedy.,Meanwhile, the US embassy in India reiterated its stance on illegal immigration and said it would not tolerate violation of any law or visa misuse. In a social media post on X, the official handle of the US Embassy said, “The United States continues to welcome legitimate travelers for our country. However, there is no right to visit the United States.”
