New Delhi: West Bengal Governor CV Anand Bose On Friday, he visited Malda to meet the victims affected by the Murshidabad riots, who had to flee the district last week after a violent clash during the anti -WAQ law opposition.
After the journey, the governor claimed that the women told them that “they were afraid” and that “the crooks came to their homes and they were physically attacking, using derogatory words”.
Assuring active action, Bose said that he had a detailed discussion with the victims in the camp, where he was living as a temporary arrangement.
The Governor of West Bengal said, “I met the family members who are in this camp. I held a detailed discussion with them. I heard their complaints and understood their feelings. He also informed me about their needs. Certainly, active action would be taken,” the Governor of West Bengal, who, ignored the request to postpone the visit of CM Mamata Banerjee, reported the news agency ANI.

According to several reports, Bose is ready to travel to Murshidabad on Saturday, where violence took place, killing three people and injured several others.

‘Can’t move independently’

The displaced residents who took refuge at a relief camp set up on the premises of Paralalpur High School in Malda claimed that they were “limited” and stopped the premises from leaving or contacting their relatives.
Tension allegedly increased in the camp in Bishanbnagar when the police banned journalists from entering during Bose’s visit. The move staged a protest against the displaced people, who expressed disappointment over the lack of communication and transparency.
According to ANI, one of the camp prisoners said, “We are limited by the police here and cannot proceed independently.”
The prisoner alleged, “We are not allowed to go here or talk with our relatives. We do not know why the media is not given to the media about the governor and is talking to us. We want the world to know about our conversation with him.”

Shocking over the situation facing the displaced women, Reliefkar said: “I have interacted with women and children in the camp. They have shared the circumstances that they had faced. These women and children had to face a lot of problems and have been forcibly evicted. They are beyond imagination.”

Along with reliefkar, NCW member Archana Majumdar alleged that women were molested and forcibly thrown out of their homes.
“It is the duty of the state government to protect them. What are they doing? Is the TMC government planning to convert West Bengal into another Bangladesh?” Majumdar said, to deal with the state administration crisis.

VHP demands President’s rule

The Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) on Saturday announced a nationwide protest demanding the implementation of the President’s rule in the state. Alok Kumar, president of the Hindu organization, said that the members and supporters of the organization will stage a dharnas at the district headquarters across the country to oppose unrest in Murshidabad.
“We will give memorandum to the District Magistrates that the central government considered that President’s rule in West BengalKumar told the news agency PTI.
Referring to a meeting between CM Mamta Banerjee and Muslim clerics, Kumar noted his comment that Murshidabad violence was “pre -planned”.
“If it is pre -planned, was the state intelligence agencies gave any prior information to its government? And if not, then who is responsible for such failure?” He asked. “If there was any report, why were there precautionary measures to prevent violence?” Kumar said.

Cracks in INIDA block?

While the Trinumool Congress (TMC) accused the BJP of doing “politics” instead of taking appropriate steps, its ally Congress has planned to travel in the affected areas, which may not be well with Mamta.
Kalyan Banerjee on Friday attacked Union Home Minister Amit Shah and accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of doing “politics” instead of taking appropriate steps.
“They (BJP) have been demanding the President’s rule (in West Bengal) since 2019. This is their regular demand. We do not give any importance to this demand. The matter (Bengal violence) is going on in the High Court. The High Court has satisfied the steps taken by us. Banerjee has told AI on Murshidabad violence.
He further said that all forces had worked together, and peace in the city was restored.
He said, “Everything is normal in Murshidabad district … BJP is trying to do politics. Amit Shah is also engaged in politics instead of taking necessary steps … He planned to indulge in riots,” he said.
Meanwhile, a Congress delegation led by West Bengal unit president Subhankar Sarkar will visit the riot -affected Shamsargganj in Murshidabad district on Saturday and review the situation there.
During a visit to Shamsherganj around 2 pm, he said with the government with Malda Darasin MP Isha Khan Chaudhary, AICC Observer Amba Prasad and other party leaders.
The Congress party official told PTI, “We will go to the riot-hit areas of people around Shamsherganj and tomorrow. We also have a plan to visit other areas where there was violence.”
