Better road connectivity shrinking economic, social and geographical intervals in Uttarakhand: CM Pushkar Dhami | Bharat News

Dehradun: Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami said on Tuesday that the state is looking at a transformative phase of development, which is inspired by rapid improvement in the infrastructure of the road, which is not only bridging the geographical distance, but also organizing economic and social interval between the hills and the plains.CM Dhami highlighted the fact that the Enhanced Road connectivity is laying the foundation of a self -sufficient Uttarakhand, which forwards the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘developed India’.In a post on X, CM Dhami wrote, “Continuous improvement in road connectivity in Uttarakhand has given a new pace to the development of the state. Now, with the construction of all weather roads, bypass routes, tunnels and modern bridges, the distance between the hills and plains is not only geographically, but also socially shrinking.”The post said, “The unprecedented work done in the field of road connectivity is the foundation of a self -sufficient Uttarakhand, a strong step towards realizing the vision of ‘developed India’, as has been conceived by the respected Prime Minister, Narendra Modi,” Post added to X.Meanwhile, on Monday, CM Dhami attended a program in Parade Ground, Dehradun to mark the International Olympic Day. He honored the players who won international and national medals and administered the oath of sports.He said that this day is dedicated to sportsmanship, unity and peace. The Olympics are not just a competition, but symbolizes dedication, practice and national pride.Chief Minister Dhami said that extensive work has been done to promote sports in the country under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. India is now emerging as a winner, not only as a participant. At the 2023 Asian Games, India performed the best with 107 medals, while 126 players from India qualified for the 2020 Olympics, which reflects the strength of the sports ecosystem in the country.He further said that the state government is committed to developing Uttarakhand as ‘Khel Bhumi’. In the recently held 38th National Games, the players from Uttarakhand won the state by winning 103 medals. He said that fast work is being done towards establishing 23 sports academies, the Sports University Haldwands Women Sports College Lohaghat in eight major cities of the state.
