Bihar OppN deployed 56K agents for pole roll revision, despite protests. Bharat News

New Delhi: Despite their opposition to the ongoing special intensive amendment (SIR) of Bihar’s electoral rolls, the opposition parties of the state have already joined the practice with full force, deploying 56,000 booth level agents (BLAS) to monitor each phase of this process.RJD has appointed 47,143 Blass, which is only second for the BJP which has deployed 51,964 Blass in the area. Congress has given 8,586 Blass, CPI (ML) (Mukti) 233, CPM 76, and B.S.BJP’s ally, JDU, Lok Janakati Party and Rashtriya Lok Samata Party have taken the total deployment by NDA in 82,616 Blas respectively.EC sources told TOI on Sunday that all sides are in the process of appointing more blas for proper verification of the electoral rolls.EC officials, despite facing the criticism of SIR as an attempt by “Diseenfranching”, on Sunday demanded to clarify that the pole would strictly implement Article 326 during body exercise. The article, a senior EC worker told TOI, there is a constitutional duty on the Commission, which is only Indian citizens over 18 years of age, who are ordinary residents in the respective assembly constituency and are not disqualified as elections under any law.“Sir corresponds to Article 326. This is a direct question (for parties criticizing Sir): Whether you agree with Article 326 or not,” the worker asked.The EC has already advised all recognized political parties in Bihar to appoint their workers as blases in polling stations, “Now instead of finding defects with electoral rolls”, according to senior EC executive.Election Registration Officers (EROS) have started operating the Orientation Workshop for the blass of all parties to explain the process and make them sensitive.The BLA will be associated with the booth level officer (BLO) during the BLA amendment period for a polling station. Political parties will also be asked to give a list of blacks to relate their eoses.Prior to the House-to-House Enumeration, a BLO will hold a meeting with a Blass appointed by political parties and brief them about the schedule and process of the head. Blos will go through the draft of electoral rolls with Blas and identify the reforms.According to SIR’s instructions in Bihar, “It is appropriate to mention that once a bass appointed by a recognized political party will be continued as a BLA, until his appointment is canceled by the political party.”EC has allowed Blass to file the application in bulk, subject to the condition that a BLA draft roll will not submit more than 50 forms per day before publication, and then 10 forms per day.Blass will submit a list of applications with an undertaking that he personally verified the details of the application forms and is satisfied that they are correct.
