New Delhi: BJP on Tuesday attacked Congress President Mallikrajun Kharge, accused of insulting President Daapadi Murmu and former President Ram Nath Kovind, with “abusive and racist” comments, and demanded unconditional forgiveness.Kharge allegedly made derogatory remarks while speaking at an event in Chhattisgarh, where he referred to President Murmu as “Murma ji” and then went to wrongly express his predecessor Ram Nath Kovind’s name before correcting himself. The BJP said that Kharge deliberately saw the President and Kovind. The BJP also demanded that the Congress remove the Kharge. However, the Congress rubbed the charge with party member Pawan Khera, alleging that the attack on Kharge was reflective of the “mentality of the BJP”.Addressing a public rally in Raipur on Monday, Kharge also said that the BJP has always made a big thing that it made the presidents of Drupadi Murmu and Ram Nath Kovind of the country, “But has the party done all this to take away our property, forests, water and land?”BJP spokesperson Gaurav Bhatia accused the Congress of doing “anti-tribal and anti-anti-mentality”.Bhatia also alleged that Kharge made fun of Kovind. He cited Kovind to accuse Kovind that Kharge called the former President “Kovid”. “You call her ‘Murma ji’ and then call it a land mafia, alleging that she has become President to snatch the property, forests,” he accused. Talking to PTI, Khera dismissed the BJP’s allegation, saying, “This is the nonsense. It is the kind of mindset that the BJP has. You appoint a tribal leader as the President of India, but you do unhappy injustice for the tribals of Chhattisgarh, Odisha and everywhere, you are provoking their resources. You are asking him a question, he will say that the President of India is a tribal.,
