BJP accused Ram Navami violence in Kolkata, targeted TMC and Mamata Banerjee; Police response | Bharat News

New Delhi: The West Bengal unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Sunday allegedly “attacked” in the Park Circus area of Kolkata, while allegedly carrying the alleged Hindu devotees allegedly carrying saffron flags, while returning from one Ram Navami processionHowever, the Kolkata Police denied that there was any such procession.
“As soon as the Ram Navami procession returned, Hindu devotees were badly attacked in the Park Circus seven point area of Kolkata. Vehicles rained on vehicles to carry only saffron flags. The windshields were shattered. Conservatives were faced,” West Bengal BJP President and Union Minister Sukanta Majumdar said in a post on X. He called it a “targeted violence” and accused the police of remaining “silent” and “spinless” in front of the attack.
Majumdar directly convicted Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee for the incident, alleging that the police were “paralyzed” by “politics of insignificance”. He further stated that the “system is shaken” from the performance of “United Bengali Hindus” during Ram Navami, and warned that the next year’s procession would be “big”.
Kolkata Police React
In response to the allegations, the Kolkata Police issued a statement, stating, “No permission was taken for any procession in the park circus, and no such procession was taken out.”
The police admitted to getting information about the damage to a vehicle and said that they immediately intervened to restore the order. The statement said, “A case is being registered to investigate the case. The public is advised not to pay attention to any rumors.”
