Former Pakistan PM Imran Khan nominated for Nobel Peace Prize in jail

Former Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan is nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize, which recognizes his contribution to human rights and democratic values.
Nomination was announced by members of Pakistan world alliance (PWA), a advocacy organization established in December, which is also affiliated to the Norwegian political party Partiant Centrum.
“We are pleased to announce on behalf of PartiaT Centrum that with the right to nominate an alliance with someone, nominated former Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan, who is at the Nobel Peace Prize for his work with human rights and democracy in Pakistan,” Partiant Sentrum posted on X on Sunday.
Earlier, Khan received the Nobel Peace Prize nomination for his efforts to promote peace in South Asia in 2019.
Strangely in its own country, the Center has claimed that Imran Khan has revolved around the riots in the country.
According to The Express Tribune, the Norwegian Nobel Committee evaluates hundreds of nominations annually through a wider eight -month selection process before choosing a winner.
Khan, who founded Pakistan’s primary opposition party, has been in custody since Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), August 2023.
In January, the authorities sentenced Khan to 14 years imprisonment for corruption and misused allegations of authority.
This decision marked his fourth important belief.
High Courts have overturned or suspended three previous punishment related to state gift sales, state secret revelations and irregularities of marriage.
After the no -confidence vote in April 2022, Khan was removed from the post. He maintains his innocence, saying that the allegations are politically operated.
