Brazilian judge threatens Bolsonro on a speech shared on social media

Brasilia: A Brazilian Supreme Court Judge has threatened former President Zaier Bolsoro, arguing that his speech sharing by online users on Monday was “violation of the social media ban”, according to a document accessed by AFP on Monday.The far-flung former President, who is accused of attempting to “Takhtapalaut” against his successor Luiz Eneasio Lula Da Silva, on Monday gave a speech which quickly went viral on social media.Bolsono did not give a speech from his own account, although his sons and political colleagues did so.Justice Alexandre de Mores of Supreme Court – with whom Bolsono have often collided – posts from accounts on X, Instagram and Facebook are displayed posts, and with videos, pictures and lessons from Bolsoro’s speech for journalists in Congress.According to Mores, the 70 -year -old former President “gave a speech to be shown on digital platforms.”Bolsoro needs to wear an electronic ankle bracelet in relation to the case, and to follow other measures including ban on posting on social media.Mores called for the former leader’s lawyers to provide clarification within 24 hours “under the punishment of immediate imprisonment, on violation of precautionary measures imposed.”In an earlier judgment on Monday, Mores warned that any proliferation of bolsoro’s public speeches on social media platforms would violate measures.However, Bolsono condemned the move as an act of “cowardice”.She appeared to show the cameras, for the first time, monitoring electronic ankle she wears on her left leg.“It is a symbol of extreme insult,” he said.“What does God mean to me,” he said, dismissing the decisions of the court.US President Donald Trump, who counts Bolsonaro among his colleagues, said in a controversy accusing Brazilian officials of “witch hunting”.His administration has imposed visa restrictions on Mores on his conduct in the case, and announced a 50 percent tariff on Brazil’s imports until the allegations are released.One of the sons of the former President, Eduardo Bolsono, in March, quit his post as a Congressman and moved to the United States, where he is campaigning for the Trump administration to intervene on behalf of his father.Mores believes Bolsonro and his son “are under the functioning of the Supreme Court (Brazil) for the control of the United States.”The restrictions imposed on the Bolsono have an order not to go to the embassies or governments of other countries.He should stay at home at night and weekend as well, although he denied any plan to escape from Brazil.
