Cabinet decided to include caste survey in the next census

New Delhi: In a cabinet press briefing on Wednesday, Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav Said that the government has decided to include one Caste survey In the main census.
Ashivini Vaishnav said, “The Cabinet Committee on political matters has decided today that caste calculations should be included in the upcoming census.”
The minister also attacked the Congress party for “protest” of the caste census, claiming that the late Dr. Manmohan Singh said in 2010 that “the case of caste census in the cabinet should be considered”.
“Congress governments have always opposed caste census. In 2010, the late Dr. Manmohan Singh said that the case of caste census should be considered in the cabinet. A group of ministers were formed to consider the subject. Most political parties have recommended caste census.”
Vaishnav said in a job in the Congress party that some state governments have conducted caste surveys from “non-transparent manner”. The minister’s comment was in the context of surveys conducted in Congress -ruled Telangana and Karnataka.
“It is well understood that the Congress and its INDI coalition partners have used caste census only as a political equipment. Some states have conducted a survey to calculate castes. While some states have done it well, some others have conducted such surveys in a political angle only in a non-powerful manner. Survey,” said the minister.
“As per Article 246 of the Constitution of India, the subject of census is listed at number 69 in the Union List of Seventh Schedule, while it is a union theme. While some states have conducted a caste-based survey, varying in the approach. In some cases, these surveys have been conducted in a transparent and organized manner, while they are the ability to interfere with social harm,”
“Keeping these concerns in mind, and to ensure that the social fabric remains intact, the government has decided that caste calculations should be held transparently as part of the official census, rather than state-level surveys.
