Egyptian football star Mohammad Salah has publicly challenged the UEFA after the death of Palestinian footballer Suleman Al-Obid, known as “Palestinian Pale” in Southern Gaza. On Wednesday, the Palestine Football Association (PFA) said 41-year-old al-obed died when Israeli forces killed a crowd waiting for humanitarian aid. The former national team’s striker was one of Palestine’s most talented players, scoring more than 100 career goals and inspired young footballers throughout the region. Subscribe now! Born on March 24, 1984 in Gaza, Al-Obed started his career with Khadmat al-Shanti before the mantra with Markz Shabab al-Amri in West Bank and Gaza Sport. He made his debut for the Palestinian national team in 2007, earned 24 caps and scored twice, including a great scissors-kick against Yemen at the 2010 West Asian Football Federation Championships. His surname referred to the icon of Pale, Brazil, on whose pitch became a universal symbol of the beauty of football. The PFA says that his death has been part of the devastating toll on the Palestinian game since the struggle began. At least 662 athletes and their relatives have been killed, including 421 footballer, 103 of them are children. More than 288 sports features have been damaged or destroyed, including the majority in Gaza, including the PFA’s own headquarters. Al-Obid leaves his wife and five children behind.
