Canada Election 2025: Khalistani leader Jagamet Singh gets emotional after defeat, leaves NDP as chief; Internet please her downfall
Jagmeet Singh, Khalistan supporting leader of Canada New Democratic Party (NDP), broke into tears on stage as he announced his resignation after a derogatory defeat in the federal elections.
Not only did he lose his seat, Bernbai Central, but his party also failed to secure the 12-seat minimum to maintain the position of the national party in Parliament. Singh came third in his constituency, and NDP crashed from 24 seats to just seven.
While fighting tears, Singh said, “This is the respect of my life to lead NDP … I am disappointed that we cannot win more seats.” As long as a successor is elected, he will remain an interim leader.
During his tenure, Singh openly supported the Khalistani separatists, demanded a ban on India’s presidents, and pressurized former PM Justin Trudeau to take out Indian diplomats after the Khalistani separatist Hardip Singh Nijar’s assassination. He even urged Canada to approve Indian authorities, widely condemned in India.
His collapse was met with Cheers on social media.
