New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday met the family of former Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani, who died in Ahmedabad air accident.The Prime Minister said that he is not “ready to accept” that his fellow BJP leader, “Vijaybhai”, is nobody else.PM Modi wrote on X, “I met Vijaybhai Rupani’s family and expressed my condolences. I am not ready to accept that Vijaybhai is nobody else. I was associated with him for years. We worked shoulder to shoulder in many challenging times.”He recalled that Rupani was of simple and gentle nature, committed to hardworking and party ideology, and became the Chief Minister of Gujarat, fulfilling various responsibilities in the party’s organization.The deceased former CM, PM Modi mentioned, hit a unique raga in every role handed over to him, whether it is in Rajkot Municipal Corporation, or as BJP President of the state, and as a cabinet minister.“I got an opportunity to work closely with Vijaybhai when he was the Chief Minister of Gujarat. He took several steps to carry forward the Vikas Yatra of Gujarat, of which ‘Ease in Living’ is a notable. The meetings and discussions with him will always be remembered,” The Prime Minister, a former Chief Minister of Gujarat, said by his home state.Rupani was traveling to London in a sick Air India flight, crashed from Ahmedabad on Thursday afternoon a few minutes after the take-off. The aircraft consisted of 242 people, including 230 passengers, two pilots and 10 cabin crew. A British traveler of Indian origin was only one survivor.
