‘Center accuses Priyank Kharge, curbing the fame of Karnataka; We refused to travel ‘inappropriate’. Bharat News

New Delhi: Karnataka Minister Priyank Kharge on Thursday criticized the central government, refusing to travel to the United States to join multinational companies and promote investment opportunities in the state.Sources told the news agency PTI that Kharge was scheduled to lead Boston to lead a delegation to attend a bio 2025 and later to attend the Automation Conference for San Francisco. However, after refusal to approval, Kharge had to cut his ongoing foreign journey and returned to Bangalore from Paris on Wednesday night. The minister said that he would raise the issue with the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) and demand a formal explanation for the decision.“It seems that the Center is trying to reduce the fame of Karnataka,” Kharge said, which holds information technology and biotechnology departments.Accepting that the Center has the right to deny permission, he said that a valid justification is required. “It is unfair to reject my official tour,” he said.Kharge clarified that he would carry forward the matter. He said, “We will not leave it just like this. I am going to write Mea as to why the support of our delegation and the Government of India is demanding a valid clarification on this.”He also urged Chief Minister Siddaramaiah to write Prime Minister Narendra Modi on this issue.Kharge insisted that his American visit was purely to attract investment and had no political agenda. He said, “People in the USA do not have time to listen to our politics. We are going there to invite them to invest in Karnataka. The investment in Karnataka will benefit not only the state but also the center,” he said.
