Indian shuttler HS Paranoy staged a remarkable comeback to defeat Japan’s Koki Watanbe in the early stages of the China Open Super 1000 badminton tournament in Changzhou on Tuesday, with five match points to win from 8-21, 21-16, 23-21.World No. 35 Paranoy showed extraordinary flexibility against Watanbe at 18th place, especially in the final game where he faced several match points.Laxman Sen suffered a disappointing loss to China’s fifth seed Lee Shi Feng, who lost 21–14, 22–24, 11-21 after gaining an initial benefit.After his victory, Pranoy said, “This point in my career, every victory matters.
