China vowes to stand by Pakistan in defending its ‘sovereignty, regional integrity’, calls it ‘Iron-clad friend’

China said on Saturday that it would continue to support Pakistan in maintaining its “sovereignty, regional integrity and national freedom”, describing the country as a “iron-clad friend”.According to Pakistan’s Foreign Office, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi made this comment in a phone call with Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar.Dar updated Wang on the regional situation, in which Wang praised Islamabad’s “restraint and appreciated his responsible views under challenging circumstances.The Foreign Office said, “They confirmed that China will stand firm in maintaining its sovereignty, regional integrity and national freedom as an all-visitor strategic cooperative partner and Iron-Clade Friend of Pakistan, Pakistan.Separately, Dar also spoke with UAE Deputy Prime Minister and External Affairs Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed, who welcomed the ceasefire deal between Pakistan and India.Additionally, DAR discussed with Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan to abstain to them about the regional situation.Earlier, US President Donald Trump announced that India and Pakistan had agreed to a “full and immediate” ceasefire, stating that it resulted in the US-Sudaul discussions.US State Secretary Marco Rubio described it as an American-block ceasefire, praising Prime Ministers Narendra Modi for “politicians in choosing the path of his intellect, wisdom and peace”.Both India and Pakistan announced the ceasefire after starting attacks on each other’s military sites.However, a few hours after the agreement, there were loud explosions in Srinagar and nearby border areas as Pakistani drones entered the Indian airspace.
