Citing the Taipei Times, ANI said that while citing Taipei Times, Annie said that the purpose of a bilateral bill was the purpose of protecting Taiwan’s underest communication communication cables with suspected Chinese intervention in Taiwan’s Senate.Taiwan Understanding Cable Regylns Initiative Act, both members of the Senate Foreign Affairs Committee, sponsored by Republican Senator John Curtis and Democratic Senator Jackie Rosen, asks the US government to help promote the flexibility of the cables near Taiwan. The bill proposes tasks such as deploying real -time monitoring systems, developing rapid response protocols, increasing marine monitoring and promoting international cooperation to prevent sabotage. The senators took initiative amidst the concerns described as China’s “Gray Zone Strategy”, vague or unconventional functions are used to achieve strategic benefits without triggering open conflict. A press release with the bill stated that since February 2023, Taiwan has at least 11 undercare cable disruptions, intentionally and connected to some ships to many suspected person.Senator Cartis stated that Taipei Times quoted as saying, “We cannot stand as China as China separated its strategy to separate Taiwan, including vandalizing its significant undergraduate cables.” He said that strengthening Taiwan’s cable defense would show the US commitment to protect the shared infrastructure, sovereignty and freedom. With the cable bill, another piece of law, the Taiwan International solidarity Act was introduced. Co-proposed by Senator Curtis and Democratic Senator Chris Van Hollen, the bill wants to clarify that the United Nations General Assembly resolution 2758 does not stop America from opposing Taiwan’s efforts to reduce the global presence of Taiwan.Law encourages cooperation with colleagues to push back against China’s diplomatic efforts to separate Taiwan. The Taipei Times reported that a similar bill was passed in the House of Representatives in May, which was introduced by Democratic Representative Gery Konoli and Republican Representative Young Kim. A version of the bill also passed the House in 2023, but was not taken by the Senate. Both newly introduced bills should be approved by the Senate and House, before they signed the law by the President. The resolution adopted in 1971 transferred Chinese seat to the People’s Republic of China from Taiwan to the United Nations, which effectively left Taiwan by participating in United Nations bodies due to lack of formal recognition.
