CISF Sub-Inspector Geeta Samota first force Scale Mount Everest | Bharat News

New Delhi: CISF sub-inspector Geeta Samota has become the first CISF personnel to score the world’s highest peak Mount Everest at a distance of 8,849 meters. This achievement is the culmination of his dream of ‘Seven Summit’, which took the wing in 2019 with a Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) to climb Mount Satopanth in Uttarakhand. After being trained at the ITBP mountaineering training institute in Auli, Geeta scored Mount Lobche in Nepal in the same year. Even the Kovid epidemic could not break her line, as she went to climb four more peaks in six months and 27 days in early 2021 and 2022. Among them, Mount Kosisko (2,228 MTRS) in Australia, Mount Elbras ((5,642 MTRS) Russia, Mount Kilimanjaro (5,642 MTRS), won the most ambitious challenge of their mountaineering career, as she stood on Everest Peak, ‘World’s roof’.Geeta comes from a minor background, which is raised with four sisters in Chak village of Sikar district of Rajasthan. Growing up, she listened to the stories of boys’ achievements, but saw a void in the stories celebrating the achievements of the girls, an observation that ignited her a calm determination within him. A promising hockey player in the college, he had to stay away due to injury and joined the CISF in 2011.In the CISF, Geeta noticed that mountaineering was a low-todane path; The CISF did not even have a dedicated mountaineering team at that time. She recognized it as an opportunity and became the only female participant in the Mountaineering course batch at the ITBP Training Institute Auli in 2015.Geeta has first awarded the International Women’s Day Award by the Ministry of Civil Aviation by the Women and ‘Giving Wings to Dreams Award 2023’ for the Delhi Commission in 2023.CISF has been a stable supporter of its mountaineering efforts, sent it to campaigns and provided it financial support. On Tuesday, CISF DG congratulated SI Geeta, the force described him as a beacon of inspiration for the youth of India and the source of immense pride for the entire Capf Fraterinty.CISF is now planning to send a full mountaineering team to score MT Everest in 2026.
