New Delhi: CJI Br Gavai Decision on Friday rejected Supreme Court Bar Association And SC Advocate-on-Cord Association To boycott court farewell to Justice Bela M TrivediJudge in the 75 -year history of the tenth women’s court.The boycott stems from a divided decision of an SC bench on the punishment of an AOR, which allegedly suppressed the material and attempted to mislead the court in a criminal case. While Justice Trivedi ordered AOR’s name to be removed from the role for a month, his colleague Satish C Sharma left him with warning.

CJI says that the judge’s farewell is not in good tasteDuring the farewell in the CJI court, several advocates, especially women, appreciated Justice Bela M Trivedi for a sterling career, who followed the integrity, hard work and security of institutional dignity.She joined the Ahmedabad City Civil Court in 1995 as an additional district and Sessions Judge, when her father was also a judge in that court. She became a judge of a High Court in 2011 and was appointed as a Judge of the Supreme Court in August 2021.CJI Br Gavai said that although the Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) president Kapil Sibal was present, the boycott of a judge’s farewell by both associations was not in good taste. “We designate such stands of SCBA and SC Advocates-on-Credit Association (SCOARA).” “Good traditions should be followed and respected,” said CJI’s bench partner Justice AG Masih.Justice Trivedi, who will retire on 9 June, will not be available on the final working day of SC on 23 May, before the summer break, as they have a family wedding in the US. He said that this is the first time that the CJI has broken the tradition after the ceremony, and to invite all its relatives for tea after dinner.Attorney General R Venkatarmani said that Justice Trivedi gave justice following the law. Solicitor General Tushar Mehta said, “Justice Trivedi has never attempted to give relief to the popular feelings, which is a rare thing. It is a rare thing. It is guilty, courage of courage to offend the people. I have lost most cases in front of him, because HC or SC Judge, but our honor can never be dependent on the relief that we have noticed.SG Mehta said, “There are some people who feel that ‘my word should be the last word in the law’ and this justice never happened in Trivedi’s court, where the last word was the word law, even if it was at the cost of annoying some people … our honor and love for the judge is not accidental whether relief is being given or not.”
