CM Yogi announced Rs 2 lakh assistance for the victims of Haridwar stampede

Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Sunday expressed grief over the loss of life in the incident of stampede near Mansa Devi temple in Haridwar, Uttarakhand and announced a financial assistance of Rs 2 lakh for the families of the deceased of Uttar Pradesh. At least six people were killed and several others were injured in the incident during a large crowd of devotees. According to officials, four people killed in the incident are from Uttar Pradesh. In a post on X, CM Yogi said, “The news of a tragic accident on Shri Mansa Devi Tempal Road in Haridwar, resulting in the devotees who passed away, are very painful and shocking heart. He said that the authorities have been directed to work with the Uttarakhand government to ensure that the mortal remains are brought back to the home districts of the victims. “Officers have been instructed to coordinate with the Uttarakhand government to ensure that the mortal remains of citizens who lost their lives in the accident are taken to their home districts and handed over to their families. The Chief Minister of Uttarakhand has ordered a magisterial inquiry and has announced a pre-Rs 2 lakhs pre-Gratia for the families of the deceased and is Rs 50,000 for the injured in Stamped. Addressing, CM Dhami said, “The injured are being treated. Some have been sent to AIIMS Rishikesh. Our priority is that they get good treatment and recover soon. A toll-free number has also been issued. Magistrate has been ordered and announced every Rs 2 lakh for the families of the deceased. He said, “Six people have been killed in this accident …” President Draupadi Murmu also expressed his condolences on the loss of life in the stampede. In a post on X, President Murmu wrote, “The news of the death of many devotees in a stampede accident on the way to Mansa Devi temple in Haridwar is deeply painful.” “I express my heartfelt condolences to all grieving families. I pray that all the injured devotees recover quickly,” the post read.
