Day 7 entered the Kulgam OP; Northern Commander, DGP Review Status | Bharat News

Srinagar: Amidst an ongoing anti-terror operation in Kulgam district of South Kashmir, which entered its seventh day on Thursday-Northern Commander of the Sena, Lt Gen Pratik Sharma visited the region to review the anti-terrorism grid. Later that evening, DGP Nalin Prabhat visited the district and reviewed the security situation.The army said in a statement, during its visit, Lieutenant General Sharma was informed on security status, operations of soldiers and ongoing operations. “He praised all the ranks for their perseverance and flexibility, enabling the firm commitment of the army in ensuring peace and security in the region,” the statement said.Meanwhile, senior police and security officers are monitoring the Kulgam operation, which began on 1 August in Akhhal Khulsan One after a joint team of army, Jammu and Kashmir Police, and other forces started a search operation based on the presence of three to five terrorists in the region based on intelligence input. Police said that the soldiers caught fire during the search, causing a gun.On August 2, police said two unidentified terrorists were killed in the encounter.According to officials, Cordon was extended and the operation was going on till the time of filing the report.
