Delhi Airport flight cut: more than 100 flights to be affected daily; Runway upgrade from June 15

In the coming months, passengers flying outside and outside Delhi may see some disturbance in their plans as the Delhi airport will cancel about 7.5% of its daily flights. For three months, from 15 June to 15 September, the airport will cancel 114 daily flights, as the operator of the airport starts upgradation tasks on one of their runways.Runway, RW 10/28, Instrument Landing System (ILS) will be closed to allow for enhancement. Of that, about 114 operations are going to be affected, which is 7.5%,” he explained.Overall, 200 flights will be affected daily, with 114 canceled and 86 non-line hours will be re-determined, as part of a three-month adjustment. Dial said the ILS installation will be completed by 27 November, just before the winter fog season.The earlier plan to shut down the RW 10/28 in April-May was abandoned due to huge crowd and adverse weather. Now the revised schedule formed with the instructions of the Ministry of Civil Aviation was finalized in consultation with the airlines.Dial owned by the majority of GMR airports said that all slots were made in close coordination with the carrier to reduce the adjustment disintegration.
