Dharli disaster: Uttarakhand Health Department on Alert Mode; The secretary inspects hospitals. Bharat News

After the recent CloudBust-Trigger disaster in Dharli area of Uttarkashi district, Uttarakhand Health Department has taken action on the instructions of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami. Health teams have reached the ground zero and are treating the injured. Additional medical teams will soon be involved in relief operations. Health Secretary Dr. R. Rajesh Kumar said that the department has taken fast and concrete measures in response to Dharli disaster. Hospital systems have been strengthened, the ground teams are active, and mental health issues are also being taken seriously, said that under the leadership of CM Dhami, the Health Department is fully prepared to deal with every situation.Health Secretary inspects hospitalsKumar visited Doon Hospital and Coronation District Hospital in Dehradun to assess the preparations. The Health Secretary reviewed emergency services, ICU, general wards, presence of employees and availability of medical equipment. He instructed the hospital administration to ensure that patients should not face lack of medical care. He said that the Chief Minister has directed that not a single injured or needy person should be denied treatment.Review of ICU, General Ward and StaffingThe Health Secretary then visited the Coronation District Hospital, where he reviewed the ICU, General Ward and other important units. He directed that sufficient number of doctors, nursing staff and paramedical teams should be deployed. He said that both Doon Medical College and Coronation Hospital in Dehradun are fully equipped with a disaster management point of view. Reserve medical facilities in 3 major hospitalsFor victims and seriously injured patients, the bed is reserved in Doon, coronation and AMS Rishikesh. Reserved features are as follows:
- Doon Medical College, Dehradun (150 General Bed, 50 ICU Bed)
- Coronation District Hospital, Dehradun (80 General Bed, 20 ICU Bed)
- AIIMS, Rishikesh (50 general beds, 20 ICU beds)
Doctors, nursing staff, paramedical teams, medicines and equipment have been fully organized in these hospitals.Deployment of 3 psychiatristsKumar mentioned that issues related to mental stress and depression may arise in disaster affected areas. To address this, a special team of three psychiatrists has been posted in the Dharli area. This team will visit relief camps to provide counseling and mental health assistance. They will work in coordination with the local administration.108 ambulance service, CMO teams in active modeChief Medical Officer (CMO) and Disaster Response Team are on alert mode in all districts. In case of emergency, 24×7 has been activated to 108 ambulance service to ensure timely transport of patients in hospitals.
