ED lock in Muda scam worth Rs 100 crore, total now Rs 400 crore. Bharat News

Mysuru: The Enforcement Directorate, which is investigating the alleged Mysore Urban Development Authority Site scam, has considered 92 properties in the Muda-developed layout collectively valuable for Rs 100 crore. Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah and the family were under scanner in the alleged scam, as CM’s wife, Parvati, was allotted 14 sites in a fashionable layout in Mysuru in a land-swap deal for three acres under 50:50 schemes and 16 Gunta. After the dispute, he returned the sites into the issue. A Lokayukta investigation approved the CM in the alleged case.Earlier, about 160 sites, Rs 300 crore, were attached, the total value of the seized land was taken up to Rs 400 crore. The Government of Karnataka recently changed the name of urban body to the Mesuru Development Authority.Ed has called for the prevention of the Money-Londering Act, 2002 to attach the assets, which effectively evacuates any transactions on these properties in the Prime Massuru city places. The attached properties are registered in the names of institutions such as housing cooperatives, or individuals.An ad press note claimed that its investigation revealed a large scale scam in the allocation of MUDA sites through government orders and fraud. Muda officials said that allegedly allocated sites to illegally disqualified individuals and institutions.
