New Delhi: Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat said on Tuesday that India is emerging as a prominent global player.Speaking at a program in Sikar, Rajasthan, God praised the country’s flexibility, democratic strength and ability to respond to global needs.“We are seeing today that every time the world is needed, India grows. If we look at the history of our country after independence, then on the basis of that history, no one can say that India will grow.”He said that despite the dominance of great world powers, India has made its mark. “But today, India is increasing its presence in the world despite great powers and is making its presence. Some people predicted that democracy would not be able to work in India after independence. Today, when we talk about democracy, India is ahead of many countries of the world, “he said.Bhagwat’s remarks came when opposition parties criticized the BJP -led Center, accusing the Election Commission (EC) of reducing democracy through alleged electoral fraud in connivance. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi recently accused the “vote theft” in the 2024 general election.The opposition has also demanded a rollback of special intensive amendment (SIR) of the electoral rolls in the pole-bound Bihar, claiming that it can disintegrate many people. On Monday, India Block MPs marched at the EC headquarters in Delhi on the issue.In Bihar, opposition leader Tejashvi Yadav accused the EC of “misusing” his powers. He said, “This is the misfortune of Bihar. The names of many voters are constantly being removed, many people do not have documents, and there are many who live outside Bihar, but vote in Bihar. It is a conspiracy by the BJP, and the BJP is getting its work using the Election Commission.”
