‘Fake Bomb Danger’: Frontier Pilot delayed aircraft to stop former girlfriend from domestic violence court hearing, arrested

A frontier pilot was arrested for preventing his ex -girlfriend from attending domestic violence hearing against her for the threat of fake bomb in Cincinnati.

25 -year -old pilot Andrew Brainman of Frontier Airlines threatened a fake bomb to one of his own company aircraft to prevent his ex -girlfriend from attending a domestic violence court hearing against him. His ex -girlfriend, an employee of the same airline, was going to Kent from the Cincinnati International Airport. According to reports, Brainman joined the airline as the first officer in 2023 and started dating flight attendant Molly Bernum in November 2024. But their relationship ended after five months as Bernum accused Brainman of physical abuse and reported a complaint in Kentki where the brainman was based. Bernum said Brainman threw him to the ground, placed his hands around his neck, caused scratches and injuries; And also send disturbing text messages. Based on the report, she was scheduled to appear for a court hearing on 9 May for an emergency protective order. A day earlier, Brainman called the airline and stated that there was a threat of a bomb on the flight burnum. The pilot also said that Bernum was planning an attack on flight. The police immediately removed him and questioned him and allowed him to ride in another flight to attend the hearing. Bernum informed the police that the brainman pose a threat to stop the presence of his court. Investigators found that there was no reliable threat arising out of burnum or otherwise. Frontier later told the police that the report originated from Andrew Brainman, Brainman’s arrest took place at his house on 4 July, including domestic violence and harassing allegations of communication. The frontier suspended him after a protective order, although his current employment status is not clear. Bernum resigned from Frontier in July.
