‘Fearful to return to work’: Indian cab driver attacked Ireland; Hit the head twice

In Dublin, another incident of an attack involving an individual of Indian origin has emerged, where the victim was killed on the head twice from a bottle and left bleeding, stated by the local media.A cab driver, who has lived in Ireland for more than 23 years and maintained head injuries with a bottle strike twice in Ballimun on Friday evening, poppnantry, on Friday evening. After the violent incident, the one who left his vehicle stained with blood received treatment at the Beomont Hospital.Lakhveer Singh said that he is “very scared” to resume the work after maintaining injuries in an attack. India-born father-two told Dublin that the attackers shouted Zenophobic remarks “Go back to your country while running away”. Lakhveer gathered two youths, gathering at the age of 20–21, before taking them to a poppishty from Northern.On reaching their destination, the passengers forcefully opened the door of Lakhwir and hit their heads twice with a bottle. Despite attempts to seek help from nearby residences, there was no help. He later approached emergency services, in which Guardai and medical personnel responded to the scene.However, after avoiding severe injury, he expressed significant concern about returning to work. “I have never seen anything like this in 10 years,” he said.“I am really scared and I am out of the road right now. It will be very difficult to go back. My children are really scared.”A garda representative confirmed his ongoing investigation, stating: “Guardai is investigating an attack in Poppintry, Ballimun, Dublin 11, which was around 11:45 pm on Friday, 1 August 2025 at around 11:45 pm on 1 August 2025. In the 40s, a person in the age group was brought to the Beomont Hospital for the treatment of non-janleva injury. Investigation is on. ,The incident follows several recent attacks on Indian citizens in Dublin. On 19 July, an Indian man experienced severe trauma after an attack by youth in Kilmanag, Talghat during the hours of daylight.On 27 July, a 32 -year -old Indian data scientist needed to be hospitalized after an unsafe attack by six teenage boys at Life Valley. These incidents inspired the Indian Embassy to issue security advice to its citizens in Ireland.The embassy advised Indian citizens in Ireland to take precautions for their personal safety and escape from uninhabited areas, especially in odd hours, two more Indian citizens were brutally attacked and left with serious injuries.The Indian Embassy notice stated that “the examples of physical attacks reported against Indian citizens in Ireland have increased” and this embassy “was in touch with the authorities concerned”. This advised Indian citizens to take “proper precautions”.
