‘For peace’: After operation vermilion, tune changes in Pakistan, calls for communication with India

Pakistan Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif on Wednesday reiterated his phone to interact with India, urging the two countries to sit “for peace” and resolve long -lasting issues including Kashmir, water sharing and terrorism. The change of tone in Pakistan’s language can be seen in the vengeance of the Pahalgam terror attack after India’s punitive diplomatic steps and strong military terrorism action under Operation Sindoor against Pakistan. He was commented during Lachin, Azerbaijan during the Pakistan-Turkie-Azerbaijan tripartite summit, where he joined Turkish President Recep Taip Erdogan and Azerbaijni President Ilham Aliiv. This was Sharif’s second call for dialogue in a week. On Monday, while living in Tehran, he expressed the same desire to join India, “to resolve all controversies.”Sharif said, “We should sit together and talk for peace … there are issues that demand immediate attention and should be addressed through dialogue.” He said, “I have said in all humility that we want peace in this field[…] And this requires negotiations on the table on issues that require immediate attention and cordial resolution, the issue of Kashmir is according to the United Nations and Security Council proposals and as per the aspirations of the people of Kashmir. ,Sharif also expressed openness to discuss terrorism with India, saying, “I have said in all the earnests that if India wants to talk about combating terrorism in honesty of purpose, Pakistan will be ready to talk to India on this issue too.” He further expressed his desire to resume trade relations, and criticized India’s decision to suspend the Indus Water Treaty, called it an important resource for Pakistan’s drinking and agricultural needs. However, India has unevenly clear its attitude: talks with Pakistan will focus only on two issues, Pakistan -occupied Kashmir (POK) and terrorism. In his first statement after Operation Sindoor, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said: “Today, I would also like to tell the global community that our announced policy has been: If there is talks with Pakistan, it will only be on terrorism, and if there is talks with Pakistan, it will only be on Pakistan-Ockated Kashmir (Poke).”After the April 22 terrorist attack in Pahalgam in Jammu and Kashmir, tension between the two countries has intensified, in which 26 died. In vengeance, India launched a coordinated military operation Operation Syndor, which began on 7 May, in which nine terrorist launchpads were targeted in Pakistan and Poke. The Indian Air Force also destroyed 11 Pakistani airbase in response to Pakistan’s unsuccessful efforts to attack Indian military positions on 8, 9 and 10 May.After a meeting between the military operations of their directors on 10 May, the two sides agreed to stop military functions.
