Forest decomposition, Mumbai civic body, CRZ violations should visit SRK’s house on complaints

Mumbai: A joint team of forest department and BMC officials inspected actor Shah Rukh Khan’s bungalow, Mannat at Bandra Bandstand on Friday, after a complaint about a violation of the coastal regulation area (CRZ) during the renewal of property on Friday. The property includes the vow, a heritage structure and an attachment structure, a multi-storey building. As Khan and his family have moved to a nearby place due to renewal, the authorities were met by their employees, who told them that they would submit all the documents related to the permissions received.Khan’s manager Pooja Dadlani said, “There is no complaint. All the work is going on as per guidelines.”Property is undergoing renewal, and for this approval was sought before the Maharashtra Coastal Zone Management Authority (MCZMA). Renewing involves adding two additional floors to the annexe structure.A forest department official said, “A team inspected a site as we received a complaint about renewal permissions. A report will be prepared on the basis of conclusions and will be submitted soon.”An officer, who was part of the team, said that the employees at the site told them that they would submit all the documents related to the permissions received.Officers of BMC’s H-West Ward Building and Factory Department and Building Proposal Department were asked to go with the forest team to inspect. A BMC official said, “Our officials were with the team based on the request of the forest department. We had no other role.”Worker Santosh Dandakar had earlier filed a complaint with BMC about construction in Mannat.Former IPS officer and advocate YP Singh on Friday alleged in the layout of Mannat that as per heritage rules, Villa Viena included a main heritage building. “The name of this building was later converted into a vow. In 2005, an expansion building of seven floors was built behind the heritage bungalow and since the roof act of urban land was applicable, a large apartment could not be made. To overcome this legal hurdle, the approval for 12 small independent flats was taken from BMC from BMC. However, once the approval was received, all these 12 small flats, which were essentially for large -scale housing under the Act, were merged and a super luxury house of a single family was constructed, “Singh said.
