Paris: French Culture Minister Rachida Dati has to go on a test accused of corruption and misuse of power, while she was a member of the European Parliament, a judicial source told AFP on Tuesday.The 59-year-old, who is ambition to become the Paris Mayor next year, was accused of lobbying for a Renault-Nisan Carmacking Group in the European Union organization in 2019. She denies the allegations.Between 2010 and 2012, a lawyer’s fees from the Netherlands-based subsidiary of Renault-Nisan are accused of accepting 900,000 euros ($ 1.06 million at current rates), but were not really working for him, while it was an MEP from 2009 to 2019.The investigation has demanded to determine if she was really advocating for a car manufacturer in the European Parliament, an activity that is prohibited.The judicial source said that the French Investigation Magistrates also ordered that former Renault-Nisan’s former tycoon Carlos Ghosan be tried.The 71 -year -old, who is living in Lebanon after avoiding arrest in Japan, has also dismissed the allegations against him.The source said that the hearing will decide on the date of the trial on September 29.According to another source after the case, the test may be conducted after the Paris municipal elections, which will be held in March next year.Dati, a daughter of the working class of North African immigrants, has repeatedly demanded allegations against her without success.Ghosan, former chairman and chief executive officer of the Renault-Nisan-Mitsubishi Alliance, was arrested in Japan on suspicion of financial misconduct in November 2018, in a unanimous decision before Nissan was dismissed by the board.He granted bail late next year and hid a dramatic migration from Japan hiding in an audio-movement box, landing in Beirut, where he lives as an international fugitive.Both Japan and France have demanded his arrest.
