Gaza aid site targeted: Two American workers were injured in suspected grenade attack; GHF convicts Hamas

According to the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF), two American aid workers, described as a targeted grenade attack on a humanitarian aid center in Southern Gaza, were injured on Saturday.The Foundation, which is supported by the United States and Israel, said the incident occurred during a food distribution drive at one of its centers in Khan Younis. The attack took place at the end of an otherwise successful distribution on the SDS -3 site in which thousands of ghazans secured food.Both activists, both American, continuous injuries that are not considered a threat to life. GHF said that both employees were in a stable position. The Times of Israel also reported that grenades were thrown at workers.The organization told news agency AFP, “This morning, two American aid activists were injured in a targeted terrorist attack during food distribution activities at SDS -3 at Younis.” “Reports indicated that it was done by two attackers who thrown two grenades among Americans.”The group stated that the initial signs pointed to the “hostile action by Hamas”, although the investigation is still on. The statement said, “The initial indication is that it was hostile action by Hamas. The investigation of GHF is going on and will update with more information as well as available.”The GHF said that its operation will continue despite the attack. The organization, which started the work in Gaza on 26 May, has distributed food and necessary supply to the citizens amidst the ongoing struggle for Israel’s Palestinian refugees through the United Nations Agency.Operations are often associated with chaotic scenes and close-lived reports of Israeli forces, which firing on people waiting to collect ration. The United Nations estimates that in recent months, more than 500 people have been killed while in queue to assist. The Israeli army has convicted Hamas for such incidents.GHF said that it had issued several warnings from Hamas about reliable threats. The Foundation said, “Today’s attack has tragically confirmed those warnings.”
