New Delhi: The bravery of a teenage girl and the presence of the mind saved her from kidnapping in Thane using geometry compas and then jumped out of the moving rickshaw. A 16-year-old girl boarded an auto-rickshaw to reach school on Wednesday, where an unknown passenger was already sitting. When the vehicle came close to her school, the girl asked the driver to stay there, but she did not do so and moved forward rapidly, “the police said after registering the case on Saturday. The incident occurred around the afternoon in Bhiwandi on 9 July. The girl made a way to go to school safely and later informed her mother, who approached the police.Police said that since then a case has been registered at Shanti Nagar Police Station under Section 137 (2) (kidnapping) and 62 (attempt to commit a crime for life or other imprisonment).“The investigation of the matter is currently underway,” the official said.
