Gloves or balls? Hot exchange of Shubman Gill after controversial run-out

New Delhi: Gujarat Titans Captain Shubman was blindly angry after being run out during Gill IPL 2025 Match against Sunrisers Hyderabad On Friday, at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
The incident occurred in the 13th over when Jose Butler delivered from Zeeshan Ansari towards a short fine leg and called for a quick single. Harshal Patel sprinkled, collected the ball rapidly, and fired a flat throw towards the end of the striker.
Wicketkeeper Henrich Klassen, posted in front of the stump, tried to deflect the ball at the stump with his gloves.
The dismissal looked extremely tight and was sent up for review.
The third umpire checked whether the stumps were broken by Classen’s gloves or balls. After several replays and angles, the umpire concluded that the ball hit the stumps, cited a visible deviation after exposure to gloves as evidence.

Gill appeared shocking and visually fierce by the verdict, but he had no option but to return to the pavilion. He later made an exchange with TV umpire Michael Gough after returning to the dugout.
Despite the dismissal, Gill played a sensational knock, scoring 76 runs off just 38 balls.
Earlier, Sunrisers Hyderabad captain Pat Cummins won the toss and selected for Bowl. SRH went with an unchanged XI, while the Gujarat Titans made a change, replaced by Karim Janat to Gerald Koetzi.
