New Delhi: Congress leader and opposition leader Rahul Gandhi on Sunday killed the BJP -led NDA government and Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on the murder of businessman Gopal Khimka, evidence that the state has turned into a “crime capital of India”.In a post on X, Rahul Gandhi said, “The killing of businessman Gopal Khemka in Patna has once again proved – BJP and Nitish Kumar have changed Bihar to the capital of crime of India together. Today, Bihar remains in the shadow of robbery, gunfire and murder. The crime has become a ‘new general’ here.Appealing to voters, he said, “Brothers and sisters of Bihar, this injustice cannot be tolerated anymore. A government that cannot ensure the safety of your children cannot be trusted. Every murder, every robbery, every bullet – is a cry for change. Now there is time for a new Bihar – where there is progress, not afraid. This time, your vote is not only to change the government, but to save Bihar. ,Businessman Gopal Khamka was shot dead near Gandhi Maidan in Patna on July 4 at around 11 am. Superintendent of Police (SP) Patna, Dixit, confirmed the incident, said, “On the night of July 4, at around 11 pm, we came to know that businessman Gopal Khemka has been shot dead in the south area of Gandhi Maidan. The crime site has been safe, and further investigation has reduced. A bullet and a shell.,Director General of Police (DGP) Vinay Kumar said that a special investigation team (SIT) has been formed to investigate the case, and will be led by SP, City Central.The incident is like the murder of Gopal’s son, Gunjan Khemka, BJP leader and then the state convenor of the party’s small industry cell. Gunjan was shot dead at his cotton bandage factory in Hazipur. After his assassination, there was a lack of attendance by the top BJP leadership at the funeral, disappointing the family.The deceased’s uncle Ram Khemka told TOI at the crematorium in Gulbi Ghat, “Gunjan used to spend 3-4 hours every day while working for BJP. Yet no senior leader or minister also raised his voice against his murder.”Only a few BJP MLAs, including Nitin Naveen, Arun Kumar Sinha and Sanjeev Chaurasia, were present at the funeral. Although the state BJP president Nityanand Rai later visited, the family until then decided not to take Gunjan’s body to the party office for the funeral.Reacting to the murder, RJD leader Mrityunjay Tiwari said, “This is very sad. The government will have to answer because a businessman was killed in the posh area of Gandhi Maidan. The police reached after two hours. It happened near the police headquarters.
